Charlotte forward Gerald Wallace left the Bobcats' game Wednesday night after hitting his head on the floor following a flagrant foul by Indiana's Danny Granger.

Melvin Ely said his heart won out over his head. Ely chose a one-year, $3 million qualifying offer from the Charlotte Bobcats on Monday over a multiyear contract from the Phoenix Suns.

After weeks of speculation, the Bobcats have officially signed free agent forward Walter Herrmann. The 27-year-old is a former Player of the Year in the Spanish ACB League and member of the 2004 Gold Medal Argentinean Olympic Team.

Charlotte Bobcats forward Emeka Okafor will miss the rest of the season because of an ankle injury that has already cost him 36 games.

Heading into the weekend, Okafor has missed 36 games with a sprained right ankle. The centerpiece of the franchise has become a forgotten man in his second NBA season.
